José Rincón Mora, uno de los más pasionales pintores dominicanos contemporáneos, pintor, dibujante, vitralista y arquitecto, es junto a su obra eje de una amplia investigación estética que sobre la seductora, hierática, telúrica y misteriosa expresión de su pintura realiza la consagrada crítica e historiadora del arte dominicano.

In 1961 he graduated in architecture from the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo, at the same time he studied painting with Professor Jaime Colson. He was awarded a scholarship by the German Government, DAAD in 1964. He studied (1964-70) at the Akademie Der Kunst, München, Academy of art of the University of München. In Germany he begins to paint with gold on abstract topics. In 1970, exhibited at the Kunst Verein-München, Gallery Buchholz, Haus der Kunst, München, Sttugart, Esslingen, Uhn, Zurich. In 1972 he travelled to Spain, France, Greece and Italy to increase his store of human and artistic experiences. Copies the work of great masters of the 20th century, Picasso, Nolde, Modigliani, Braque from German and Swiss museums creating 28 large camvases . At home exhibits in the Gallery Rosa Maria and then, at the National Theatre, his copies of the originals of the European masters. Commissioned by the Commission for the restoration of colonial monuments of the city of Santo Domingo, he designs the complete stained glass windows of the Church of the convent of the Dominican priests of Santo Domingo, presbytery and front West of the Cathedral of Santo Domingo. He travels to Brazil and becomes deeply interested in Latin American spiritualism. 1981 Installs complete stained glass from the old church of the Dominican convent of Santo Domingo, and 24 large stained-glass Windows in the Cathedral of Santiago de los Caballeros, project still to continue, 1982. Exhibition at the Gallery of modern art in Santo Domingo.
